Privacy Policy
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files (txt) sent by the web server and saved on the user’s side (usually on the hard drive). The parameters of cookies allow only the server that created them to read the information contained therein. Cookies are most often used for counters, probes, online stores, websites that require logging in, advertisements and to monitor visitor activity.
WHAT FUNCTIONS ARE FULFILLED BY COOKIES?
Cookies contain various information about the user of a given website and the history of his/her communication with the website. Thanks to them, the owner of the server that sent the cookies can easily find out the user’s IP address, as well as, for example, check what pages he has viewed before and after entering his website. In addition, the server owner can check what browser the user is using and whether there have been any errors while displaying the page. It is worth noting, however, that these data are not associated with specific people browsing the website, but only with a computer connected to the Internet on which cookies have been saved (IP address is used for this purpose).
HOW DO WE USE INFORMATION FROM COOKIES?
Typically, the data is used to automatically recognize a specific user by the server, thanks to which it can generate a page dedicated to him. This enables, for example, customizing websites, logging in, shopping carts in online stores, etc. What does it look like in practice? Well, thanks to the saved cookies, the server can check whether a vote was cast in the poll from a given computer. In addition, it adjusts, for example, an advertisement on a website so that it is not displayed multiple times for the same user.
Cookies may therefore be used by us to adjust the content of websites to the user’s preferences and to optimize the use of websites. In addition, it uses them to create anonymous, aggregated statistics that help understand how the user uses websites, which allows improving their structure and content, excluding personal identification of the user. In addition, we may place or allow a third party to place cookies on your device in order to ensure the proper functioning of our Website. This will help us monitor and check the performance of our Website. This entity is, among others, Google, which collects the necessary data for us.
However, the user can set his browser in such a way that cookies are not saved on his disk or automatically deleted at a certain time. These settings can therefore be changed in such a way as to block the automatic handling of cookies in the web browser settings or to inform about each time they are sent to the user’s device. Unfortunately, as a consequence, this may lead to problems with the display of some websites, i.e. the repeated display of the same advertising banners.
This is how browser settings are changed to disable the automatic saving of cookies:
Internet Explorer
Firefox
Opera
Chrome
